We exist to educate preschoolers in a Christ-centered environment as we glorify God by nurturing the whole child spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Our program blends Biblical curriculum with purposeful play and natural curiosity to enhance each lesson. We actively encourage and facilitate parental involvement, recognizing parents as crucial partners in their children’s education, and foster community by encouraging interactions between parents, children, and staff.
About Wellspring Preschool
Wellspring Preschool will be launching in the Fall of 2026. As a part of Wellspring Family Church, our goal is to provide excellent preschool education that takes a play-based approach to focus on the whole child. Our facility will be brand-new in 2026! Wellspring Preschool is looking for our first director! This position will be crucial as we launch in 2026, and this individual will have a significant hand in setting the direction and tone of the preschool. This position will begin as part time role, and expand to full time as enrollment grows. This position reports directly to the Preschool board of directors.
Wellspring Preschool Director Job Description:
The Preschool Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and overall administration of the preschool. This role requires a strong background in childhood development and leadership within an early childhood education setting. Key responsibilities include hiring and retaining qualified staff, oversee maintenance of the pre-school facility, managing finances, marketing the preschool, and fostering clear communication with parents and board of directors. The director should exemplify Godly leadership, a collaborative approach to working with and supporting teachers, have a passion for working with children, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The director will uphold and promote the preschool’s mission and vision, ensuring all standards are met according to school and state guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish new preschool operations including policies, curriculum, hiring teachers, etc with board input and approval.
- Oversee daily operations
- Foster a Christ-centered, child-focused environment
- Ensure compliance with Missouri state licensing requirements
- Lead by example
- Lead and supervise staff with a focus on professional development and mentoring
- Manage and prepare budgets, setting and achieving enrollment and retention goals
- Promote parent involvement and communication
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures
- Plan programs and extracurricular activities
- Foster a positive and professional working environment
- Organize and lead staff meetings
Required Qualifications:
- A clear profession of faith in Christ and active church involvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a preschool or early childhood setting
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for preschoolers
- Strong organizational and communication skill
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a director or assistant director is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of state licensing requirements
- Proficiency in computer software necessary for school management.
- Budgeting and financial management experience is preferred
